Itinerary

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Arusha by your Tanzania Adaptive Safaris driver-guide. After a short briefing, set off for Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and its massive elephant population. The Tarangire River, a lifeline during the dry season, attracts countless animals including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalo, and predators like lions and leopards. Bird lovers will also enjoy spotting some of the park’s 500+ bird species.

After a full-day game drive and picnic lunch, continue to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Tree Inn, nestled in the green highlands.

After breakfast, drive towards the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro highlands with scenic views along the way. Enter the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive, exploring its vast savannahs that teem with wildlife. The Serengeti is home to the legendary Great Migration (seasonal), and throughout the year it offers incredible sightings of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and countless plains game.

As the sun sets over the endless plains, head to Tukaone Weaver Camp, a tented camp in the Serengeti, for dinner and overnight under the stars.

Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. With its diverse habitats, the park offers unmatched game-viewing opportunities. Depending on the season, you may witness the dramatic river crossings of the wildebeest migration or enjoy action-packed predator sightings as lions and cheetahs hunt across the plains.

Your guide will tailor the day’s program to maximize sightings, including a picnic lunch in the park. In the evening, return to Tukaone Weaver Camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

After an early breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor is home to around 30,000 animals, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. The soda lake inside the crater attracts thousands of flamingos, while hippos wallow in the pools.

After a rewarding game drive and picnic lunch, ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha. Depending on your plans, you can either overnight in Arusha or transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
