Upon arrival at the park gate, you will meet your guide and complete the necessary paperwork. It is recommended to hire a knowledgeable guide who can provide insights into the park’s flora, fauna, and history.

Begin your exploration of the park by embarking on a game drive. Arusha National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, and various antelope species. Keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent creatures as you drive through the park’s diverse landscapes.

Mid-Morning:

After a few hours of game driving, take a break and stretch your legs with a guided walking safari. Arusha National Park is one of the few parks in Tanzania that allows visitors to explore on foot. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will have the opportunity to get closer to nature and appreciate the smaller details of the park, such as the birdlife and plant species.

During your walk, you will also have the chance to visit the beautiful Momella Lakes. These shallow alkaline lakes are home to a variety of water birds, including flamingos. Take your time to observe these elegant creatures and capture some memorable photographs.

Lunchtime

After your morning activities, find a scenic spot within the park to enjoy a packed lunch. Many tour operators provide lunch as part of their day trip package, so you won’t have to worry about bringing your own food. Sit back, relax, and savor your meal while taking in the breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes.

Afternoon:

In the afternoon, continue your game drive through the park. One of the highlights of Arusha National Park is the opportunity to visit the Ngurdoto Crater, also known as the “Little Ngorongoro.” This collapsed volcanic crater is home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, elephants, and even leopards. Drive along the rim of the crater and keep your eyes peeled for any signs of movement.

If time permits, you can also visit the beautiful Arusha National Park’s waterfalls. Take a short hike through the lush forest and be rewarded with the sight and sound of cascading water.

Late Afternoon:

As the day comes to an end, start making your way back to the park gate. Enjoy the last moments of your visit as you drive through the park, taking in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
