Day 01 :

Airport Pick up and Transfer

On this day, you will be warmly welcomed upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport and transferred to the Summit Safari Lodge. After check-in and time to relax, your professional mountain guide will meet you at the hotel for a comprehensive pre-climb briefing. During this session, the guide will outline the daily hiking program, explain what to expect on the mountain, and conduct a thorough gear check to ensure you are fully prepared for the climb.

Day 02 :

From Arusha City to Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and drive you to the Ngongongare Gate. Upon arrival, your guide will complete all park formalities before continuing through Arusha National Park, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. The drive continues to Momella Gate, where a final check of porters and luggage will be conducted.
From here, your 3-day Mount Meru trek begins at a relaxed pace. The first day feels much like a walking safari, and you may encounter wildlife. As trekking takes place within the national park, an armed ranger will accompany the group for safety.
Crossing the Ngarenanyuki River and passing a scenic waterfall at the base of Mount Meru. You will arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m) in the late afternoon or before sunset, where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 03 :

Miriakamba to Saddle Hut

After breakfast, you will continue your Mount Meru trek, ascending a steeper trail through the forest zone. Along the way, keep an eye out for a variety of birdlife and occasional wildlife sightings as the vegetation gradually changes with altitude. You will arrive at Saddle Hut, located in the alpine desert zone, where a hot lunch will be served, depending on your pace.
After lunch and some rest, you have the option to take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m). This rewarding hike offers stunning views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes, helping your body adjust to the altitude in preparation for the summit attempt. An early dinner will be served back at the hut, allowing you time to rest. You will retire early, usually around 7:00 pm, to prepare for the midnight ascent to the main summit of Mount Meru.

Day 04 :

Saddle Hut - Meru Summit-Descend and Transfer back to Arusha City

You will wake around 12:30 a.m. for a light meal before starting your final ascent of Mount Meru. The steep climb leads to Rhino Point (3,800 m) and onward to Cobra Point (4,350 m), where the trail follows a narrow rocky ridge along the crater rim. You will reach the summit of Socialist Peak (4,566 m) at sunrise, with stunning views and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

After enjoying the summit, you'll descend back to the hut and continue down the mountain. Your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha. A Mount Meru Summit Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the climb. You'll drive to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel.

Professional We had an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable experience, and we would like to especially thank Misheck and Emanuel for their amazing work. Misheck managed the entire organization of the trip in a very professional way. Everything was perfectly arranged, and he was always present, attentive, and supportive. He truly acted like a manager of the whole journey, making sure that everything ran smoothly from beginning to end. His professionalism and calm coordination made us feel very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. Our driver and travel guide Emanuel was excellent. He is clearly a very experienced and skilled driver who knows the conditions extremely well. During one drive we had a tire puncture, which is something that can normally happen due to the terrain. Emanuel handled the situation calmly and professionally and changed the tire within about 15 minutes. This showed his experience and competence. In addition, Emanuel has extensive knowledge about wildlife and nature. He explained many things about the animals and their behavior, which made the experience even more interesting and educational. He has also an academic background. Safety was also something we truly appreciated. Seat belts were fully functional, and we were able to fasten them properly at all times — which is very important. The vehicle was also equipped with a first-aid kit, which gave us an additional sense of security. This level of safety awareness means a lot. We would always recommend guests to check seat belts properly and stay safely seated — and remain buckeld - also in the parks and everywhere else — as this saves lives.- Take really care about that- PLEASE!!! ( I have experience and I know about what I am talking about) Of course, the guys were always buckled too — everybody was. If, for example, your driver is not buckled, then in the case of an accident, he cannot control the car properly anymore, and every life should be protected. If someone in the car is not buckled, then this person and everybody can get into trouble, and then of course lives are not safe. We also appreciated the respect for nature and environmental awareness shown throughout the trip. It was clear that the team values conservation and responsible tourism. A very kind and personal touch was the beautiful personalized bottles with our names that we received as a gift — such a thoughtful gesture that made the experience even more special. And we would also like to mention that the team recommended that we stay at the accommodation Hillside Retreat. This place belongs to a non-governmental organization for social work and humanitarian aid within the local community. Guests also have the opportunity to visit some of their community projects, such as an orphanage, a tailoring house, local schools, the nearby market, etc. This offers a meaningful insight into everyday life and allows visitors to better understand how tourism can positively contribute to the local community. We recommend avoiding plastic packaging at all and removing labels before arrival in the country in order to help prevent unnecessary waste. (It is also better to give pencils rather than ballpoint pens.) There is also an opportunity to bring presents for school children from the ethnic groups visited, or for school children you may meet along the way, but it is important to make sure that giving is done responsibly and respectfully. Very nice property Mother Daughter 10 night stay here did not disappoint. This property is in the village of Kisongo just outside of Arusha. The property is beautiful with stunning gardens and beautiful birds. Our room was very nice and comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. They are in the process of building a pool which will be a nice addition. They lodge has a daily food menu, you can choose from but will accommodate you if you have dietary issues. The common area is very spacious with plenty of areas you can relax and there is a separate bar with tables and chairs. We are regulars to this area because we sponsor children at a school in Kisongo and we volunteer our time at the school. We plan to return to Kutoka Lodge in the future. Trip of a lifetime What an incredible trip with Tanzania Adaptive Safaris. We did a day in Manyara National park, two days in the Serengeti and a day in the Ngorongoro crater, we saw so much. It was seamless from start to finish. Meshaki our driver was just amazing, he picked us up from the airport, was with us the whole time till he dropped us back at the airport.
